Caitie Ru

This is my sweet Caitlin Ruth. I introduced you to her a few posts back at the time of her birth.

She is now 3 1/2 weeks old, and we have just found out she has major heart defects. There are a lot of things wrong with her heart,, but some of the wrong things are actually good. It is all rather complicated and confusing, nonetheless, she is a fragile girl. She will have to have surgery at 4-6 months and also at 4-6 years. The dr. is very optimistic and says she will be okay. We are grateful for that. God is sovereign, He is faithful, He is trustworthy. We may never know why we have been called to yet another hard thing, but will trust, even when it hurts.
Please pray for Hannah and Matthew as they daily care for Caitie Ru, that they will daily have the peace that passes all understanding, for emotional, physical, and spiritual strength. That they will continue to trust in the Name of the One who has called them to this task. For Caitlin, to continue to be strong and healthy, and thrive well. For this Mama and Nana's heart as it breaks for her daughter, who must walk this pathway, though not alone. Never alone.

  1. I pray for you regularly, and now will add your children too. That sweet little girl will grow strong. But a piece of my mind can't help but say, oh man.....darn it!

  3. Another hard thing, to be sure. Nevertheless, each time the roots that seek The River go deeper still.

How greatful we are that our precious Little Lamb belongs to the Great Shepherd Who 'loved before the dawn of time....'

  4. Congratulations on the birthday of your granddaughter. I'm sorry to hear of her difficulties, and will pray for all, I know you've have a tough path, it seems like enough. I admire your spirit, I have to say. Thankfully, she was born in this day and age, I think they've really come to some great knowledge (from our Creator God of course) on how to help! Take care as you rest and trust in him! Karen

  7. Dear Julia~ while in the periphery of web communication and the nastiness of internet hacking, I missed this precious photo and hard news! Forgive this appearance of disinterest, please! Praying for Caitie Ru (love the name), her concerned parents, nana et al. As we know another wee girl fighting for life this moment in a NICU as her mama heads home without this babe in her arms...such heartaches are especially vivid to this pray-er. None-the-less, praising God for your filling quiver of grans, for your business and all your needs~ both known and veiled.
